She is the main protagonist of the following in the books: "Athena the Brain", "Athena the Wise", and "Athena the Proud".

History[]

Athena has lived with her best friend Pallas' family since she was a baby, never knowing her true parentage. One day a papyrus flies into her bedroom, revealing that she is the daughter of Zeus and can attend Mount Olympus Academy, where all the goddess girls and godboys attend, as well as some mortals. Immediately packing, she arrives the next day by Hermes' chariot and finds herself encountering a bully named Medusa, and having a roommate, Pandora, who asks a lot of questions. Eventually she hangs out with Aphrodite, Artemis, and Persephone, dubbed as the Goddess Girls, the most popular goddesses of the school who become her close friends. As the days carry on, Athena is mortified by the mishaps she has caused, like guiding her hero in Hero-ology class, and letting her inventions rain down on earth. Eventually they are all solved, and she finally feels that she belongs. Upon winning the contest for her invention of the olive, she requests from Zeus that Pallas can come visit.

In "Aphrodite the Beauty", Aphrodite gives her a makeover, which causes all the godboys flock to Athena instead of Aphrodite. The situation complicates when Ares falls for Athena, Aphrodite's crush. Aphrodite gets upset at Athena, causing a strain in their friendship. However, Athena was never attracted to Ares, and reveals that Ares was only interested because of her father, Zeus, who had the power to give Ares a temple. Aphrodite apologizes, and they become friends again in the end.

In Athena the Wise, a new mortal boy shows up at MOA named Heracles. Zeus enlists her help to make sure Heracles does not get into any trouble. Athena bonds with Heracles, helping with his twelve labours which are decided by his cousin, Eurystheus. Along with helping, Athena finds a rude mortal weaver named Arachne who confidently confides of bearing Athena in a contest. Athena reveals her true form, and they arrange a contest. Arachne's tapestry makes fun of Athena's family, causing her to vengefully tear it apart and turn Arachne into a spider. Later Athena goes to Zeus' office and shows her tapestries, which depict all of the tasks that Heracles has done the past days. Zeus is pleased, asking permission to use the designs on his new temple. Athena figures out that Zeus had the oracle in his temple in order to have ideas of painting on his temple walls with mortal deeds.

In Aphrodite the Diva, her mother Metis leaves, and Aphrodite finds Zeus a new wife, Hera. Athena is supportive of them being together, wanting her father to be happy.

In "Athena the Proud", Athena wants to upgrade a labyrinth for King Minos, but her pride gets the best of her when her attempts to improve King Minos's labyrinth have unexpected and disastrous results.

Personality[]

Athena makes friends with the most popular girls at school - Persephone, Aphrodite, and Artemis. She is the youngest of the Goddess Girls, but is the smartest girl in the academy, usually making "A"s except for Beauty-ology, the only class where she has received a "B". She can shapeshift, usually opting for the form of an owl, her favorite animal. Athena becomes the goddess girl of wisdom due to her intelligence and good judgment. In "Athena the Wise", she develops a crush on Heracles, a strong mortal who transfers to the Academy.

Appearance[]

Athena has wavy brown hair and blue-gray eyes, usually seen wearing a blue chiton. She always has her nose in a scroll and only shops for knitting supplies. In "Aphrodite the Beauty" she has on a plain white blouse, and Aphrodite observes that she looks good in turquoise. In the books, she is usually described having blue gray eyes, and in the earlier book covers it is shown to be true. However, as time went on, the later book covers started to change her appearance, and they now show her having blue eyes.
